Engineering News-Record (ENR) announced its 2022 National Top 20 Under 40 Top Young Professionals which included our very own, Mara Johnston. Mara was selected out of nearly 400 entries received this summer during the regional Top Young Professionals competition. These nominees represent all parts of the construction industry and came from all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
As quoted by ENR NY “Growing up in a construction-focused family, Johnston has turned her passion for the built environment into business ventures aimed at advancing the industry. She recently took over Star America Capital Consulting and Advisors, joining partner Mit Jha in rebranding the company as Keystone Global. Johnston is also co-founder and co-owner and partner of Amaracon Testing & Inspections LLC, which has grown to more than 50 employees in just over five years by supporting the modernization and improvement of New York City-area roadways and infrastructure. Johnston also partnered with her brother to create, develop and manage Next Generation Construction Council, an organization providing a forum for next-generation construction leaders of family businesses to learn from one another. Johnston is past president and current board member of the NYC Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association and an active member of Professional Women in Construction, the New York Building Congress and other industry organizations.”
Mara holds her Series 79, 63 and 24 Licenses and her New York insurance brokers license. She graduated with her Masters in City and Regional Planning from The University of Pennsylvania with a focus in Transportation and Infrastructure.
The 2022 class of winners will be honored at ENR’s Top Young Professionals Conference in Tempe, Ariz., Feb. 23-25, 2022 and will be featured in the ENR National Magazine in June of 2022.
